Join us for our Summer Derby Series!

July 10th and August 7th​

A mix of show jumping and cross country with a friendly competitive atmosphere

ANNOUNCEMENT: for the best footing we can offer, our July 10th Derby will be held on the Route 82 side of the property, between the lower water jump and Rte 82. The lower water jump will be included in the course!

 

Please use the Green Valley Road Entrance and park with the dressage show competitors. Hack past the tower across the top of the hill and then down the driveway to the derby course.

Starter (max height 2'3")

9AM-10:15AM

Beginner Novice (max height 2'7")

10:45AM-12:45PM

Novice (max height 2'11")

1:15PM-3:15PM

Training (max height 3'3")

3:45PM-5PM

Course maps with optimum times will be available by 5pm the Tuesday prior to the event. Each round is judged and timed. Penalties awarded as follows:

Show jump rails: 4 penalties

First refusal: 20 penalties

Second refusal, same fence: 40 penalties

Third refusal anywhere on course: Elimination

Rider Fall: Elimination

Fall of Horse: Elimination

Time penalties: 1 point per second over optimum time

Style points awarded per round on a scale of 1-10

Each rider starts on a score of 100. Penalties are deducted as described above, style points are added at the end of the round, the highest score wins.

In cases of a tie, the closest to optimum time wins.

TEAM OFFERING:

Gather a group of your 3 closest friends and make a team! Teams consist of 4 riders, riders on a team can enter at any level, top 3 scores for each team are combined and the highest cumulative team score wins.

Catch: our judge will select the team with the best theme to be awarded an extra 25 points! Clever team names and costumes always encouraged. ​

 

Tailgating welcome. All dogs must be leashed. Negative Coggins and signed waiver required for all competitors on grounds.

Safety vests and helmets required when mounted.
